He Steve - Good stuff. Here's a thought: We often treat the Universal church as if it only really includes all the people out there in the world, geogrphically or temporally removed from us. But actually, and perhaps more importantly, it also includes the other churches in town. But the big question I have is this: It seems like when it comes down to it we spend very little time being the church, you know? What about the concept of the church as a community that grows together (like Eph 1, 1 Cor 14, etc). What does it mean to be a Chrisiatn community in the world? That's one of the questions I spen a lot of time on, and I'm still not clear on.

Rob,

Thanks for the comments... The Idea of community or biblical fellowship is an essential element of the church as demonstrated in Acts 2:41-47... Our love for one another is expressed the community and it is the expression of love that is the strongest wittiness the church can have for Jesus. That said I think there are some Christian leaders that are teaching that community or fellowship is all that is needed... I just don't see that taught in scripture.
